About Leo Lyons

Leo Lyons is an English bassist best known as a founding member of the blues rock band Ten Years After, formed in 1967. The band's electrifying performance at Woodstock in 1969 became legendary through the festival film. Beyond performing, Lyons established himself as a record producer, working with UFO, Magnum, Procol Harum, and Motörhead. He later co-founded the bands Kick in 1987 and Hundred Seventy Split in 2010.

Since this interview

Lyons continued performing with Hundred Seventy Split, releasing live albums including Live Woodstock '69 in 2019 and Movin' On in October 2023. As of 2024, at age 82, he was taking time out following the death of drummer Damon Sawyer while considering future projects.
