About Daniel Rodriguez
Daniel Rodriguez is an American operatic tenor and former New York City Police Department officer known as "The Singing Cop" and "America's Tenor." Born in Brooklyn, he gained international recognition for his performance of "God Bless America" at the Prayer for America service at Yankee Stadium following September 11, 2001. He has performed with major orchestras including the Boston Pops and made his operatic debut in Leoncavallo's Pagliacci in 2006.
Since this interview
Rodriguez performed with the New York Tenors in a sold-out Carnegie Hall Christmas show in 2012. He released Por Ti Volare, a Spanish-language album honoring his Latin heritage, in 2013, followed by his first holiday album A Glorious Christmas in 2014. He received the USO Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007 for his Care Package Program work.
