About Maureen McGovern
Maureen McGovern is a singer and actress who became known as the "disaster theme queen" in the 1970s for performing Oscar-winning songs from The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno. She also recorded the theme from the TV series Angie and Superman's "Can You Read My Mind." McGovern transitioned to Broadway, making her debut replacing Linda Ronstadt in The Pirates of Penzance and later appearing in productions including Nine and The Threepenny Opera.

McGovern originated the role of Marmee in Little Women The Musical on Broadway in 2005. In 2021, she was diagnosed with posterior cortical atrophy, a form of Alzheimer's disease. She publicly announced her diagnosis in 2022 and stated she would no longer perform in concert but planned to continue working on musical projects for children.
