About Norman Connors
Norman Connors is a jazz drummer, composer, arranger, and producer who emerged from Philadelphia's music scene. He achieved chart success in the 1970s with R&B hits including "Valentine Love" and "You Are My Starship," both featuring vocalist Michael Henderson. Known for discovering and producing artists such as Phyllis Hyman, Jean Carn, Norman Brown, and Marion Meadows, Connors bridged jazz and R&B throughout his career, releasing albums on Buddah, Arista, Capitol, and his own Starship Records label.
