About Martha Davis
Martha Davis is an American rock and new wave singer-songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of The Motels. The band achieved commercial success in the early 1980s with Billboard Top 10 hits "Only the Lonely" and "Suddenly Last Summer." Davis released a solo album, Policy, in 1987 and appeared in films including Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989). She continued recording with The Motels into the 2020s.

Since this interview
Davis released The Last Few Beautiful Days album in 2018. After temporarily losing her voice, she returned to performing at Cruel World festival and UK dates in 2024. In 2025, she announced work on a new sci-fi musical album titled Escape From Planet Earth, her first studio album since 2018.
