Lynn Anderson was an American country singer and television personality who rose to fame as a regular on The Lawrence Welk Show from 1967 to 1969. She achieved crossover success with her Grammy-winning signature hit "(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden," which topped the country charts and reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1971. Named CMA Female Vocalist of the Year in 1971, she recorded multiple number-one country hits and performed for four U.S. presidents.
