Ian Anderson
Ian Anderson, known throughout the world of rock music as the flute and voice behind the legendary Jethro Tull, celebrated his 30th year as a recording and concert musician in 1998.
Tull has released 30 albums selling more than 60 million copies since ’68 when the band first performed at London’s famous Marquee club.
After undertaking more than 2500 concerts in 40 countries throughout this long career, Jethro Tull is still going strong, playing typically 100 concerts each year to longstanding, as well as new fans worldwide.
About Ian Anderson
Ian Anderson is a Scottish-born musician best known as the lead vocalist, flautist, and acoustic guitarist of Jethro Tull, which he founded in 1967. As the band's only constant member, he is widely credited with introducing the flute to rock music. His work spans landmark albums including Aqualung, Thick As A Brick, and Songs From The Wood. Anderson received an MBE in 2008 for services to music and won a Grammy Award with Jethro Tull in 1989.

Anderson released Jethro Tull – The String Quartets in March 2017 featuring the Carducci String Quartet. He appeared on Marc Almond's 2020 album Chaos and a Dancing Star. By 2025, he was celebrating his 57th year as a recording and performing musician, continuing to tour and perform.
