About Grace Slick
Grace Slick, born Grace Barnett Wing in Highland Park, Illinois, served as lead singer and frontwoman of Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, and Starship. Her powerful vocals defined the psychedelic rock era with top-ten hits "White Rabbit" and "Somebody to Love" from the 1967 album Surrealistic Pillow. She later achieved number-one success with Starship on "We Built This City" and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now." Jefferson Airplane was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
