About Carl Palmer
Carl Palmer is an English drummer born in Handsworth, Birmingham, who became a founding member of three influential rock bands: Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Asia, and Atomic Rooster. Known for ELP's "Karn Evil 9" and Asia's "Heat of the Moment," he was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1989 and received the Prog God Award at the 2017 Progressive Music Awards.

Since this interview
Following the deaths of Keith Emerson and Greg Lake, Palmer embarked on the Emerson, Lake & Palmer Lives On! World Tour in 2017 and celebrated ELP's 50th anniversary with tours in 2021 and 2024. In April 2024, he released the box set 'Fanfare For The Common Man' and continued touring with isolated videos of his late bandmates.
