About Joe Bonsall
Joe Bonsall was the tenor vocalist for The Oak Ridge Boys from 1973 to 2023, a fifty-year tenure that saw the group inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Gospel Music Hall of Fame, and Vocal Group Hall of Fame. Born in Philadelphia, he joined the group at age 25 and helped deliver hits including the chart-topping "Elvira." Bonsall was also an accomplished author, writing eleven books including children's literature and memoirs about life on the road.

Bonsall retired from touring in January 2024 after a four-year battle with ALS, with his final performance on December 17, 2023. He passed away on July 9, 2024, at age 76 in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
