About Suzzy Roche
Suzzy Roche is a singer-songwriter and the youngest member of the vocal group The Roches, which she joined in 1977 alongside sisters Maggie and Terre. She has appeared in films including Crossing Delancey and Soup for One, released the solo album Holy Smokes, and authored novels Wayward Saints and The Town Crazy. She has been an active associate member of The Wooster Group for over thirty years and frequently collaborates with her daughter, Lucy Wainwright Roche.
Since this interview
Roche released Mud & Apples with daughter Lucy Wainwright Roche in 2016, earning a nomination for best singer/songwriter album. The duo released I Can Still Hear You in 2020. In 2026, she performed in the off-Broadway production Cold War Choir Practice.
