About Jackie DeShannon
Jackie DeShannon is an American singer-songwriter born Sharon Lee Myers in Hazel, Kentucky. She achieved chart success with "What the World Needs Now Is Love" and "Put a Little Love in Your Heart," and co-wrote "Bette Davis Eyes," which won the Grammy for Song of the Year in 1982. She opened for The Beatles on their first American tour in 1964 and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2010.

DeShannon released two archival albums in 2023: "Little Bit of Heaven: The 1964 Metric Music Demos" and "The Sherry Lee Show." She was inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2018 and has served as entertainment broadcast correspondent for "Breakfast with the Beatles" radio program since 2009, reporting Beatles news.
