About Edna Wright
Edna Wright was an American R&B and soul singer best known as the lead vocalist of Honey Cone, whose 1971 single "Want Ads" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Before forming Honey Cone, she worked as a backup vocalist for Ray Charles and the Raelettes, as well as for the Righteous Brothers. She also recorded solo material under the name Sandy Wynns. Wright received the National Rhythm and Blues Music Society Unsung Heroine Award in 2016.

Edna Wright received the Heroes and Legends Award in Music at The Beverly Hilton on September 24, 2017. She passed away on September 12, 2020, at age 75 in Encino, California. In January 2021, Honey Cone was inducted into the Soul Music Hall of Fame Class of 2020.
