Burt Bacharach was an American composer and songwriter whose sophisticated melodies and unconventional time signatures defined popular music for decades. He collaborated extensively with lyricist Hal David and vocalist Dionne Warwick, creating hits including "Walk On By." His work earned him multiple Academy Awards and six Grammy Awards, including recognition for "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" and the score for "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid."
