About Mike Love

Mike Love is the co-founding frontman and lead singer of The Beach Boys. He co-wrote fifteen Top 40 hits with Brian Wilson, including "Fun, Fun, Fun," "I Get Around," and "California Girls," and co-wrote the number-one hit "Kokomo" in 1988. Love was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001. His memoir "Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy" became a New York Times bestseller in 2016.

Since this interview

Love released solo albums "12 Sides Of Summer" in 2019 and "Mike Love Not War" in 2023. He became the only official Beach Boys member still touring after Bruce Johnston departed in March 2026. The band took a touring break in July 2026 due to Love's health issues. He turned 85 in March 2026 and was inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2025.
