About Corky Laing and Eric Schenkman

Corky Laing is a Canadian rock drummer best known for his work with the pioneering hard rock band Mountain, where he co-wrote and performed the classic "Mississippi Queen." Born in Montreal, he appeared on every Mountain studio album alongside guitarist Leslie West. Laing later formed the band Cork with Spin Doctors guitarist Eric Schenkman and Noel Redding of Jimi Hendrix Experience, releasing albums including "Speed of Thought" in 1999.

Since this interview

Following Leslie West's death in December 2020, Laing became the last surviving member of Mountain's classic lineup. He formed Corky Laing's Mountain in 2016 and released "Toledo Sessions" in 2019 and "Finnish Sessions" in 2022, continuing to perform Mountain's legacy material.
