About Jac Holzman

Jac Holzman founded Elektra Records in 1950 and built it into one of the most influential independent labels in American music. He signed and developed artists including The Doors, Judy Collins, Carly Simon, Jackson Browne, Queen, Love, Tim Buckley, and The Stooges. He also founded Nonesuch Records and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. He received the NARAS Grammy Trustees Award in 2008.
