About Jan and Stan Berenstain
Stan and Jan Berenstain were a husband-and-wife team of writers and illustrators who created the Berenstain Bears children's book series. They met in 1941 at Philadelphia College of Art and began their collaborative career creating gag cartoons for major magazines. After meeting Dr. Seuss in the early 1960s, they launched the Berenstain Bears with The Big Honey Hunt in 1962, eventually producing over 300 books published in 23 languages.
