About Clem Curtis
Clem Curtis (born Curtis Clements) was a Trinidadian-British singer who served as the original lead vocalist of the Foundations from 1966 to 1968. He fronted the group on their 1967 number one hit "Baby Now That I've Found You" and other chart successes including "Back on My Feet Again" and "Any Old Time (You're Lonely and Sad)." Curtis later performed in musical theatre, including the role of the Lion in "The Wiz" at the Hammersmith Lyric, and continued recording into the 2010s.
Since this interview
Curtis continued performing and recording into the 2010s, appearing on stage with Earnestine Pearce and Jimmy James in January 2017 while recovering from pneumonia. He died on 27 March 2017 at age 76 at Milton Keynes Hospital.
