About Steve Walsh of Kansas
Steve Walsh served as lead vocalist and keyboardist for the progressive rock band Kansas from its formation in 1972 through 2014. His distinctive voice defined the band's biggest hits, including "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind." Walsh co-wrote several Kansas classics and also formed the band Streets in the 1980s. After retiring from Kansas in 2014, he continued recording, releasing the collaborative album Black Butterfly in 2017.
