About Richard Thomas
Richard Earl Thomas is an American actor born June 13, 1951, in New York City. He gained fame portraying John-Boy Walton in the CBS drama series The Waltons (1972-1977), earning an Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series in 1973. His television work includes the 1990 Stephen King miniseries It, FX's The Americans (2013-2016), and Netflix's Ozark. Thomas has maintained an active stage career, including Broadway productions and national tours.

Following the 1998 interview, Thomas appeared in The Americans (2013-2016) and Ozark (2022). He earned a Tony Award nomination for The Little Foxes (2017) and starred as Atticus Finch in the national tour of To Kill a Mockingbird (2022-2024). In 2025, he portrayed Mark Twain in a touring revival of Mark Twain Tonight.
