About Dick Van Patten
Dick Van Patten was an American actor who began his career as a child performer on Broadway at age seven, appearing in twenty-seven productions. He starred as Nels Hansen on the television series Mama from 1949 to 1957 and became widely known as Tom Bradford on Eight Is Enough from 1977 to 1981. His film work included roles in Spaceballs, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and Soylent Green. He co-founded Natural Balance Pet Foods and published his autobiography Eighty Is Not Enough in 2009.
