About Kyla Pratt
Kyla Pratt is an American actress born in Los Angeles, California. She gained recognition voicing Penny Proud in Disney Channel's animated series The Proud Family and starring as Breanna Barnes in UPN's One on One, both beginning in 2001. Her film work includes the Dr. Dolittle franchise with Eddie Murphy, Love & Basketball, and Hotel for Dogs. She has continued working in television with roles in Recovery Road, Call Me Kat, and the Disney+ revival The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.
Since this interview
Pratt reprised her role as Penny Proud in The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder on Disney+ from 2022 to 2026. She appeared as a main cast member in Fox's Call Me Kat from 2021 to 2023 and starred in the 2024 film adaptation of The Memo: What Women of Color Need to Know to Secure a Seat at the Table.
