About John Merrill
John Merrill co-founded the Los Angeles psychedelic rock band The Peanut Butter Conspiracy in 1966, contributing guitar and vocals to their debut album The Peanut Butter Conspiracy Is Spreading and The Great Conspiracy. The band charted with It's a Happening Thing in 1967 and recorded songs for several films including Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. He later reformed The Ashes, whose album was released on Vault Records in 1970.
