About Joanie Laurer
Joanie Laurer, known professionally as Chyna, was an American professional wrestler, actress, and fitness model who broke barriers in the WWF during the late 1990s and early 2000s. She was a founding member of the D-Generation X stable and became the first woman to compete in a WWF Royal Rumble match. Laurer held the WWF Intercontinental Championship twice and appeared on television shows including VH1's The Surreal Life and 3rd Rock from the Sun.
Since this interview
Laurer continued wrestling and appeared on VH1's The Surreal Life in 2005. Her autobiography 'If They Only Knew' was published in 2001 and appeared on the New York Times bestseller list. She died on April 17, 2016, at age 46 in Redondo Beach, California.
