About Tim Green
Tim Green played defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons from 1986 to 1993 after being selected in the first round of the NFL draft. A practicing attorney and prolific author, he wrote 41 books including adult suspense novels and youth sports fiction. Green hosted the 2005 revival of Fox TV's "A Current Affair" and worked as an NFL commentator for FOX Sports and National Public Radio.

Since this interview
Green was diagnosed with ALS in 2016 and announced it publicly in November 2018. He continued writing despite his diagnosis, co-authoring the Baseball Genius trilogy with Derek Jeter and appearing in a 60 Minutes segment about living with ALS.
