About Chef Michael Lachowicz
Chef Michael Lachowicz is a Culinary Institute of America graduate who built a distinguished career in French cuisine on Chicago's North Shore. He trained under Jean Banchet and Roland Liccioni at Le Français in Wheeling before opening his own restaurants, including Les Deux Gros, Restaurant Michael, and the acclaimed George Trois, which became the first suburban restaurant to win Restaurant of the Year from the Jean Banchet Awards in 2019.
Since this interview
Lachowicz continued expanding his restaurant portfolio, opening Aboyer and Silencieux alongside George Trois in May 2019, creating three distinct dining experiences at one address. In 2023, he launched FONDA, a Mexican restaurant in Evanston, diversifying beyond his French cuisine foundation while maintaining his North Shore presence.
