About Stan Berenstain
Stan Berenstain was an author and illustrator who co-created the Berenstain Bears series with his wife Jan. Born in Philadelphia in 1923, the couple launched the series in 1962 with "The Big Honey Hunt" and went on to produce approximately 250 books. The series spawned animated television specials and earned recognition including School Bell Awards from the National Education Association and a Best Book Award from the American Institute of Graphic Arts.
