About Mel Stuart
Mel Stuart was an American film and television director known for both documentary work and feature films. He directed the beloved 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. His documentary career included The Making of the President 1960, which won four Emmy Awards, and Four Days in November, which received an Oscar nomination. Stuart won four Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award over his career.
