Eddie Mekka was an actor best known for his seven-year role as Carmine Ragusa on the sitcom Laverne & Shirley beginning in 1976. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, he appeared in numerous television series including Happy Days, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, 24, Crossing Jordan, and ER. He also maintained a theater career, running a local opera company in Worcester and performing on Broadway, and had a bit part in the feature film Dreamgirls.
