Susan Powter is an Australian-born American motivational speaker, nutritionist, and author who became a household name in the 1990s with her "Stop the Insanity!" fitness empire. Her infomercials launched in December 1992, selling approximately 15,000 kits per week at peak. Her bestselling book "Stop the Insanity!" (1993) and syndicated talk show reached nearly 200 television stations. She was named one of PEOPLE's 25 Most Intriguing People of 1993.

A documentary about her life, "Stop the Insanity: Finding Susan Powter," co-produced by Jamie Lee Curtis, was released in 2025. In November 2025, she revealed she was working as an Uber Eats driver in Las Vegas after declaring bankruptcy in 1995.
