About Goose Gossage
Richard 'Goose' Gossage was a dominant relief pitcher who played 22 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1972 to 1994. Known for his 100 mph fastball, intimidating Fu Manchu mustache, and fierce demeanor, he appeared in nine All-Star games and won the 1978 World Series with the New York Yankees. Over his career with nine teams, he compiled 310 saves, 1,502 strikeouts, and a 3.01 ERA. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008.
