About Simon Cowell
Simon Cowell is an English television personality, record executive, and entrepreneur who gained international fame as a judge on talent competition shows. He served as a judge on Pop Idol and American Idol, where his blunt critiques became his trademark. Cowell created the global franchises The X Factor and Got Talent, and founded Syco Entertainment and Syco Music, signing successful acts including One Direction, Susan Boyle, and Leona Lewis.
Since this interview
After leaving American Idol in 2010, Cowell joined America's Got Talent as a judge in 2016 and continues in that role. He remains a judge on Britain's Got Talent, a position he has held since 2007. He became engaged to Lauren Silverman in 2013.
