About Max “Jethro” Baer Jr.
Max Baer Jr. is an American actor, producer, director, and comedian best known for playing Jethro Bodine on The Beverly Hillbillies from 1962. He wrote, produced, and starred in Macon County Line (1974), which became the highest-grossing film per dollar invested at the time, earning over $30 million on a budget under $200,000. He also wrote, produced, and directed Ode to Billy Joe (1976), which grossed $27 million.
