About Karen McCullah Lutz
Karen McCullah Lutz is a screenwriter known for contemporary adaptations of classic literature and romantic comedies. Born in Subic Bay, Philippines, she co-wrote the teen Shakespeare adaptation 10 Things I Hate About You and the hit comedy Legally Blonde. Her work includes Ella Enchanted, She's the Man, The House Bunny, and The Ugly Truth. She has taught screenwriting at Syracuse University's Los Angeles Semester program.
Since this interview
McCullah Lutz continued her screenwriting partnership with Kirsten Smith, developing Hope, a romantic comedy for Netflix starring Aubrey Plaza, and Party Girls, a comedy project picked up by Paramount Pictures.
