About James Drury
James Drury was an American actor best known for playing the title role in the NBC Western series The Virginian, which ran for nine seasons and 249 episodes from 1962 to 1971. He appeared in all episodes of the 90-minute weekly series, one of television's longest-running Westerns. Drury also starred in the ABC drama series Firehouse in 1974 and appeared in the 1962 film Ride the High Country. He was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in 1991.
