About Wink Martindale
Wink Martindale was a game show host and radio personality who hosted more than twenty television game shows over his career. Born Winston Conrad Martindale in Jackson, Tennessee, he began in radio while still in high school and became a household name hosting programs including Tic-Tac-Dough, Gambit, and High Rollers. He also recorded the spoken-word single "Deck of Cards," which reached number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1959 and sold over one million copies.

Since this interview
Martindale continued working in entertainment, launching his YouTube channel "Wink's Vault" in 2014 to share game show episodes and rare clips. He made guest appearances on "The Chase" in 2014, "The Bold and the Beautiful" in 2016, and a KFC advertising campaign in 2017. He died on April 15, 2025, at age 91 in Rancho Mirage, California.
