About Wolfman Jack
Robert Weston Smith, known professionally as Wolfman Jack, was a legendary radio personality who pioneered rock and roll broadcasting. He gained fame broadcasting on XERF in Del Rio, Texas, starting in 1959, and later hosted NBC-TV's The Midnight Special from 1973 to 1981. He appeared as himself in the 1973 film American Graffiti and was immortalized in the Guess Who's hit song "Clap for the Wolfman." His syndicated shows eventually reached over 2,000 radio stations in 53 countries.
