About Jack LaLanne

Jack LaLanne founded the modern physical fitness movement in America. He opened a health club in Oakland in 1936 and hosted The Jack LaLanne Show, a long-running syndicated fitness television program. LaLanne invented early bodybuilding machines and designed equipment still used in gyms. He later created and marketed the power juicer and made guest appearances on programs including The Ed Sullivan Show.
