Judd Nelson is an American actor born in Portland, Maine, who rose to prominence as John Bender in The Breakfast Club (1985) and Alec Newbury in St. Elmo's Fire (1985). He portrayed Jack Richmond on the sitcom Suddenly Susan (1996-1999) and Alan Freed in the television movie Mr. Rock 'n' Roll: The Alan Freed Story (1999). Nelson also voiced Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime in The Transformers: The Movie (1986) and received a Golden Globe nomination for Billionaire Boys Club (1988).
