About Gary Solomon

Gary Solomon, Ph.D., is a psychology professor and psychotherapist who coined and copyrighted the term "cinema therapy." He authored "The Motion Picture Prescription: Watch This Movie and Call Me in the Morning" (1995), the first published book on using movies as therapy, followed by a sequel. Solomon has served as Professor of Psychology at the College of Southern Nevada since 1998, incorporating cinema therapy concepts into his teaching and research while fielding inquiries from around the world about the therapeutic technique.
